No change in GC heading into tomorrow’s Sunset Road Race
“I’m very happy with my placing today,” Hall said after the stage. “It was a very tough, hot day in the saddle – but being in the break saved my team from the responsibility of chasing. This is always a unique criterium where any situation can play out, and in this case my breakaway with six other riders was successful.”
The GC remains the same before the Sunset Road Race. Katie Hall leads Sara Bergen (Rally) by 26 seconds, while Leah Thomas sits fourth overall behind Edwige Pitel (Jackroo). In the men’s event, Gavin Mannion is just six seconds away from the podium in fourth place.
In both criteriums, a UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling rider represented in the hard-fought break. Jonny Clarke worked his way into a break to make a trio in the final few laps of the 90 minute men’s race – but from the attitude of the main bunch, it was doomed to be a bunch sprint. Haedo found the right wheels on the Elevate KHS team, sprinting to third while Mannion took another fourth place.
