Hanson finishes 10th on final stage
“One thing that’s true on our team is that we all get behind one rider,” Hall said after the stage. “I’ve been on this team for five years now, and always been racing for another GC rider. I’ve learned a lot racing in support of really good GC riders. Now that it’s my chance I’m really well prepared for it, and I’m grateful for this kind of development pipeline we have within our team.”
Hall started the final stage of the Amgen Tour of California 29 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor and UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling alumnus Tayler Wiles (Trek-Drops). It was enough time to ensure her of the win and the team made sure of it during the course of the 70km circuit race. Each attack was neutralized by the powerful Lauren Hall, Lizzy Banks, Leah Thomas and Diana Penuela.
Despite working for Hall the entire tour, Leah Thomas finished eighth overall and Diana Penuela took 18th, a testament to their own exceptional abilities at the world tour level.
