UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling team send criterium specialists to Arlington
“I’m happy to be back in Virginia for the two criteriums,” Alzate said. “I have a great group of riders with me who are all capable of producing good results, so it will be exciting to see how we do.”
The four criterium specialists will take the start line Saturday’s 21st Annual Clarendon Cup and Sunday’s Crystal Cup. Saturday’s 100 kilometre race begins at 12 p.m. eastern time and Sunday’s 90-minute event takes place at 12:45 p.m. Both races are part of an overall omnium competition.

“For the weekend, I think the team will be motivated to make the race happen and be on the top step,” Marcotte said. “I’ve yet to do these races, but with them being 100K criteriums, it lends to a strong and deep team. Personally, I’ve not raced in nearly two months, so it will be a good test to see where I am at after the training. I hope to go well and contribute to the team’s success.”
Saturday’s Clarendon Cup will be live streamed and more information can be found at www.cyclingclassic.org.
