Five stages in the Netherlands and Belgium starts July 19

New this year, the event is classified as a UCI 2.1 and held between the 19th and the 22nd of July in both Belgium and the Netherlands.

The BeNe Ladies Tour will have UCI Women’s World Tour 16 teams, two national teams and nine Belgian club teams competing in four-day stage race. The event features a short 1.9 kilometer prologue, three road stages and an individual time trial.

“After coming off the mountains of the French Alps and La Course, Thursday we transition to Bene Ladies Tour,” said Leah Thomas, who won the prestigious combativity prize at La Course. “The racing will be fast and furious on the technical roads in Belgium and the Netherlands, and no doubt will have a very different style than what we just experienced. I am eager to help the team out in any way possible and to give my all at the time trial on Saturday.”

The Bene Ladies Tour is the last race on the team’s European schedule wrapping up Janelle Cole’s first experience racing overseas.

“I’m looking forward to some flatlanding this week,” Cole said. “If it’s anything like what I’ve experienced so far, it’s going to be some extremely fun, tough racing—and I can’t wait to see what the team brings to our last race.”

Joining Cole and Thomas is Katie Hall, who recently took 7th at La Course, Lauretta Hanson, Lizzie Banks, Rushlee Buchanan and Diana Penuela.
